Mad glad or sad the Blackhawks are doing the right thing honoring Hull, in the sense or remembrance and what he did for the franchise.

If it upsets you so much then stop being a fan.

Cozens signed to a seven-year, $49.7M extension.

Sabres locking up what they feel is their version of the core.

I expected the Hawks to draft Byram, Turcotte or Cozens over Dach.

Dach is on pace for a 50-point season. Turcotte has had little playing time. I remember him being compared to Toews. Cozens is tearing it up this year.

I remember desperately wanting the Hawks to use that #3 pick on a forward. I dumbly thought that we didn’t need any defensemen and our retool would ensure we didn’t sniff that high in the draft for many years, so we better use it on a top flight forward. I was wrong, Byram is a very good defender, albeit with injury concerns. In hindsight I would’ve liked him, Cozens, or Zegras. Heck I still like Dach, but have to move past it.

Jamie Faulkner says Chris Vosters will be back next year as TV play by play.

Also, contingency plans are being developed to honor 19 and 81 in some fashion if they leave.

Kane and Toews given a list of teams that have shown interest in them. Per Dave Pagnotta of The Fourth Period.

Which is common with people who are abused. Most feel afraid, that they deserved it or that they won't be believed. It is a much more complicated dynamic than is made out to be. The legal system and community at large has historically not been supportive and there is quite a bit of work to do there.

Validating Hull's sports accomplishments and having some kind of celebration of his life very clearly says that it's ok to beat the poop out of someone if you're good at the sports and made the family a bunch of money.

It confirms that the organization still thinks that victims don't matter as long as the cash keeps flowing.

So by the same logic they should shun Kane, no? He assaulted a cab driver.

I really don't think so, and i really don't think they feel that way. As you said in the first paragraph it's such a more complicated dynamic.

Anyone know if Marty Walsh becoming the new Executive Director of the NHLPA is a good, bad or indifferent thing? Outside of being the current US Secretary of Labor and being a longtime union guy, I'm not seeing too much on him.

I'm not sure how the player's could have a worse deal than they have now. He can't hurt.

Trade szn musings:

Toews and Kane stay put.

McCabe (50% retained) to TOR for 1st.

Domi (50% retained) to CAR for 1st.

Murphy and 3rd to OTT for Tyler Boucher, Zaitsev and 1st.

Athanasiou to MIN for 4th and 2024 3rd.

- LetsGoHawks

Not feeling the Domi / CAR connection; maybe EDM can do something. The rest are not impossible lol.

I can see in a few years, each team will have a couple extra men on the ice that just lean against the net that do nothing.

Domi went to Carolina last year at the deadline and they didn’t win. I don’t see it.

Info slowly seeping out preparing Hawks fan for the departure of Kane and/or Toews ???

Jamie Faulkner exploring ways to honor 19 and 88. Maybe due diligence on her part.

19 and 88 given a list of teams showing interest in them. Brisson most likely involved in extension talks with some of them.

Kane quoted as saying there are "intriguing" options on the trade front. To me, that's about the most direct comment he has made regarding a trade possibility and is definitely considering it.

Richardson says today "The [front office] knows the players who have played well for us this year. If there’s an opportunity to make our organization stronger by getting a pick or a player for them... There’s always an opportunity to bring them back [in the summer]."

Not necessarily Kane or Toews, but who knows ?

When Tinordi returns, both Roos and Mitchell sit. Roos went back to Rockford during the NHL break but his contract - maybe orally and or with permission - he stays at Rockford. After the trade deadline the roster probably changes. I do not expect Regula returns soon btw. Don’t believe his game was good enough defensively this season in the AHL plus it looks like recently he was out injured

What does the board think about Stauber’s future? Soderstrom was in net last two games as Rockford got back on track winning both

That sounds like Domi to me, who knows? And I’d be okay with bringing him back in the summer on a two year deal, have to fill the roster and get to cap floor somehow.
